Essential Book for the young music teacher!

I recently came across a very easy to read book for the music teacher. Don't let the title fool you that it is only geared towards band teachers. This book can also be a great resource for the young (first five years of teaching) band, orchestra, and choir teacher. Frankly, it doesn't matter how long you have been teaching to get something out of this book. It was a very quick read. It covers many topics from classroom management plans, field trips, concert planning, warm-ups, making connections, recruiting, and more. You do not have to read the book from start to finish. You can jump to certain topics that you want to read about.

I found this book on Scribd free part of my subscription. You can also find it on Amazon only in PDF/E-Book format for $9.99 on Kindle. After teaching 15 years, I still found some motivation and reminders for myself to have a successful year. We get caught up in the day in and day out of teaching, so it is easy to forget certain concepts. I had some "oh yeah! for sure!" moments. I recommend this book for ALL of my student teachers to read. There are so many "how to be a music teacher" books out there, this is the one to keep on your device!
